Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA)

Under the DFIA (Duty Free Import Authorization) the Exporter may import raw material without payment of customs duty.

For getting the DFIA, Exporter should have some capability which are given below—

1-      Exporter should be a Manufacturer Exporter.

2-      Product of export should be mentioned in SION (Standard Inputs Output Norms).

 

DFIA‘s validity for 2 years. DFIA is transferable. And any exporters may perchage this licence and use this licence. Within 2 years exporters will have to import raw material and manufacture a final product and export that product. If Exporter are enable to import raw materials and can’t export the final product within the validity of Advance Authorization, Exporter need to pay duty. Under this licence Exporter can’t apply for EOP and revalidation.
